Weekend Round Up: Feb. 8th and 9th

The Cobras miss out as one from three teams takes victory in a weekend that didn’t see the lads play.

The U13 Girls lost 6-2 to OP in a game that was closer than the score indicates. Numerous errors that were capitalized on by the opposition made the difference between the two teams. Owing to Rosie’s alertness we took an early lead when she fished off a good Cobra build up. OP got back into the game and eventually went
2-1 up. We controlled the play for a small window leading to Cassidy scoring the Cobra second goal by bravely attacking the ball and finishing well. During the second half we made some errors that simply made the difference.

The 14 Girls Team, with the help of some of the U13’s, had a wonderful 8-1 victory over OP. The two defensive triangles were superb and worked well together to keep the OP attackers at bay, while the attacking three front took advantage of every opportunity to score.  The goals came from Rosy with a Hat Trick , Abby, Allison, Claire, Leah, and Laura, all with Lone Stars. Allison, Claire, Laura and Molly all recorded assists in an excellent team performance.

The U15 Cobra Girls team after a long streak of victories in the high school girls’ division came unraveled today by a good Internationals’ team.  Although the Cobra girls were able to score four quality goals through Emily with 2 goals (a brace) and Rosy and Lauren with Lone Stars, the Internationals scored more and ended up winning the game.
