Weekend Round-Up December 17th and 18th
Cobras U11 Girls V’s United U11 Girls Final Score Cobras 3 United 5
The U11’s lost against a good United side 5-3 in a game where the Cobra girls made numerous uncharacteristic errors. The game was evenly balanced and the score was 3-3 towards the back end of the game when United scored the remaining goals. The goals for the Cobras came from, Annie Greene 1, Molly Stewart1, and Alison Patrick 1.
Cobras U3/14’s V’s Ambassadors U13 Girls Final Score Cobras 7 Ambassadors 4
This was an evenly well balanced game with the scores going backward and forward throughout the game. With only six minutes to go the game was tied at 4-4 with both teams searching for the probable winning goal; it fell to the Cobras. The last six minutes belonged to the Cobra girls as they scored another three unanswered goals to secure a well earned victory. Congratulation to the Hat-Trick payer of the game, Gavi Pitones who scored three well taken goals. Emma Gorjanc had a brace with Suzanne Ford and Keeley Malone with solo goals each. U11 Abby McCartney had another competent game in nets during which she made some terrific saves.
Cobras U14 Girls V’s Liberty U14 Girls Final Score Cobras 3 Liberty 1
The U14’s put together an excellent display as they beat a strong Liberty team 3-1. Gavi Pitones rounded off an excellent 5 goal weekend with a wonderful brace of goals during this game. The winning goal, coming from Gavi, was another thunderous shot giving the Liberty keeper no chance at all. Monica Ciszewski had a fabulous game in nets inspiring a tremendous display from all the girls. Suzanne Ford opened the scoring with an opportune redirection following a Gavi Pitones free-kick.
Cobras U16 Girls V’s Everest U16 Girls Final Score Cobras 8 Everest 7
Yet another high scoring game from the weekend saw the U16 Girls winning a close game by the odd goal. An entertaining game with lots of goals saw Phoebe Potiker scoring a well taken a Hat-Trick, along with Cyndee Martin who scored a brace. Solo goals were recorded by Rachel McDonald, Emily Elkins, and Torai Slaughter
Cobras U18 Girls V’s Everest U18 Girls Final Score Cobras 11 Everest 2
After a rather physical first half in which an Everest player was carded and sent off, the score was 3-2 in favor of the Cobras. In the second half the Cobras settled into their game and taking control scored at their leisure. A fist Hat-Trick for the Cobras was recorded by Rebecca Wolfe. Jordan Spiegle and Alyx Brown both had a brace each, while Gabriella Bondra and Melanie both had a goal each.
Cobras U16 Boys V’s Select U16 Boys Final Score Cobras 7 Select 8
The U16 boys lost a tough match Vs Select U16 team by a score of 7-8. The game had lots of goals and either team could have won the game, and even after Select had gone ahead for the last time the Cobras had plenty of opportunities to score the equalizer but just could not find the net. Kotaro Umeda and Joey Bondra both had Hat-Tricks with Reed Kreger scoring a solo goal.
Cobra U17 Boys V’s Excalibur U17 Final Score Cobras 8 Excalibur 0
An excellent team, combined with individual performances, led to a total victory for the U17 Boys. Amari Williams and Quinn Malone both had special games as they both recorded Hat-Tricks while playing extremely well. Additional goals came from Matt Simon and Ralph. Griffin Sukel dominated the defensive third totally thwarting any Excalibur attack.
Cobras U18 Boys V’s NEO U18 Boys Final Score Cobras 7 NEO 11
The U18 boys also lost a tough game by a score of 7-11 although at one point they were winning the game 3-1. Indoor soccer is a funny old game and in a short time later we were losing 7-3. The team rallied back and following a good spell of playing very well they tied the score at 7-7. However, NEO got the edge and finished the game stronger. Nicky Rosson had a Hat-Trick , Max Kolomiyets had a brace, and Quinn Malone and Marcus Tweed each had a solo goal.
