A Great Day in Cobra Town First Games of the Autumn Season

If the first day of the season is anything to go by, we are in for an exciting, fun autumn.  All four teams won, and they all won handsomely!

The U12’s opened up the season with a game against Pennine.  For this year the girls are playing in the highest division possible and I was totally excited at how well the Cobras played.  They went straight at the opposition from the opening whistle and not before too long Ally Z opened her account for the Cobras with the opening goal.  Another newcomer to the team, Ashley V, also scored a Lone Star and the Cobras were rolling along.  Nicola scored a Brace as did Birthday Girl Mary Felicia who also contributed with a Hat-Trick of assists. The final score was 6-1 to the Cobras.

The U11 Cobras continued in the winning sequence with an emphatic 7-0 win over the Ambassadors.  Sophia, Rae, and Crystal all had Lone Stars while Katrina blew the game wide open with a Hat-Trick and a Lone Star.  This was a tremendous start of the season for the youngest Cobra Team on the block!

The newly formed U13/14 team got their season off to a flying start with a 7-2 win over C.V.S.A.  The team is made up of ‘old’ Cobra players it’s just that the U13’s are playing up a year.  The team jelled well together and they were certainly most worthy winners.  New Cobra Natalie A. started her Cobra career with a well taken brace to add to the other goals by Laura G. and Nora S. who both had Lone Stars and finally, Rosie R. celebrated with a season opening Hatrick.
Finally, the U14’s won a tough, and at times, a bitter match against OP Fire 5-2. For some bizarre reason the ref wanted the Cobra girls to not play to their full extent owing to the fact the opposition players were, according to him, “weaker”. The five Cobra goals came from Cassidy, Elizabeth B, Laura, Nora, and McKenna all with Lone Stars.
Just another great day in Cobra Town!
